Why Did (ONe) Take So Long?
Dave Navarro:
That's a fair question, one we have asked ourselves for a while now. In hindsight however, we have come to realize that in the scheme of things, it was necessary to take our time in order to create an internal history.
Most bands get together and create for a while before coming out with material and a tour. We are no exception. During the first year of The Panic Channel, we were recording and doing shows here and there with the intention of cranking out an album and hitting the road. As nice as this plan would have been, we would have felt more like a project than a band.
After many hours in the studio, some highs and some lows, some triumphs and some losses and internal personal and musical relation building we can safely say that we are in fact, not a project. We are a band. We have always known who you are... Now, we also know who WE are.
Why Did You Call It (ONe)?
An inevitable question arises when considering the album's title:
"What precisely is "(ONe)"? Is it a typo? Leetspeek? All of the above, none of the above?"
(ONe) signifies many things: 1.(ONe) = one, as in the first record, 2. (ONe) = on as in the channel is on. and 3. There is nothing more than ONE, spiritually speaking. And the parentheses? They hold everything together. And in this age of panic, that's critical.
