Spring Tour 2006 Update from Atlanta

The Panic Channel Spring Tour 2006 has now crossed from the West to the East coast.
The first stop in San Diego was a blast, and thanks to all the Panic Asylum moderators and friends who came out to see us off right. Here are some pics that Wendybird took at the show. We got our first shipment of Panic Channel shirts which turned out great, and we will soon have them available for sale here at thepanicchannel.com.
After a big bus drive west we got to a baking hot Arizona. We did some radio station acoustic performances ("Blue Bruises" and "Outsider"). We played the Martini Ranch and the crowd was awesome. Only three songs have been released so far, but people are already singing the words along with us, which is great.
Right after the show we got back on the bus for a 20 hour drive to Dallas. We had the night off and we went to the JFK assasination site at Dealey Plaza and played a midnight acoustic show at the grassy knoll. We plan on doing random acoustic shows when we have time at various places of power and energy.
The show the next night at Dallas' Gypsy Tea Room started off with some crazy onstage sound issues, but we got 'em tied up and tried out an acoustic "Outsider" later in the set.
Our opening band is "Bullets and Octane" - a kick ass rock solid 4 piece that we are proud to be touring with. Good guys and a great band, if you are coming to one of our shows be sure to come early to catch 'em.
Houston, Texas was next on Saturday night: we played late at the Meridian. So far, this was the largest room we've played; it had a nice big stage and the sound was the best we've had yet as well. Houston really gave it up for us, and we humbly thank you all for the warm welcome. We love Houston.

We made 800 miles last night and woke up on the East coast. Hotlanta is warm and friendly, and we went to the Sacred Heart Tattoo Shop in Little Five Points to get ink. Sean London, our sound engineer got the Panic icon on his arm. Poochie, Stephen's drum tech got the icon in some open space on his forearm. Dave got the icon on the top of his right hand and Steve got it on the inside of his left forearm. Dan, Steve's guitar tech came along for support.
We thank each and every one of you who have come out to the shows and listened and made us feel so welcome.

Houston loves yall too and we cant wait for you to come back! Dave, thanks for honering my request and letting me light your fire ; ) Also, Bullets n Octane rocked hard! But the lead singer does like to spit and pour water on the crowd, so be prepared if you are up front.

Steve, I’m listening to Podcast 3, it’s funny that you mentioned you were listening to Smile a lot during the creation of (ONe). I commented in the Teahouse/Why Cry thread at the Asylum that for some reason, that song reminds me of the Beach Boys.
See you on Thursday.
Love,
Sue

Will be "go on" a bonus track on a next single? Why don't you put it on i-tunes or be downloadable on this site? it's an amazing song with that catchy riff on the chorus

Aww! I just listened to all 4 podcasts back-to-back (yes, I'm a little slow) and Steve, I really did mean it when I said you were hot! D-don't be jealous, you're still my #1 wink, wink!)Still reelin' from the show! Podcast 4 was done right before you went on here in Houston. Wonder what your thoughts were after? I just wish the VIP lounge wouldn't have been such a sausage-fest! It's one thing to take turns with other chicks to talk to yall, but dudes too? The four of you were all we needed! Much love from Tejas ;)

I was so close to you guys last night at the Roxy, if my tongue was just a little longer I could have licked the sweat off your faces ;> The progression of the chords and the way Steve moves his voice with the guitars is very sweet. Thank you for such a fun, fine show.

UC, I was just trying to let them have a little fun, some people like to hunt for easter eggs. Wasn't trying to be mean, that's why I told her it was posted on the board.
How the hell are you anyway?

WOOOOOW!!! Gotta say, Perkins / Navarro - I've seen you guys play many, many times over the years & last night at The Roxy (ATL) you guys seemed fresher and more fun than ever. Your playing was dead-on, tight, clear & crisp. The songs themselves were f*cking EXCELLENT! Not to mention diverse in style and a real treat for tha earholes. August 15th isn't gonna come around soon enough!
Mr. Issacs - I can't tell you enough how incredibly impressed I was with your singing and stage presence. You are TRULY a top shelf vocalist. You sounded just as good (if not better) live than you do on record. And that, as everyone knows, is not something many vocalists can pull off anymore - even the supposed 'great ones'. Kudos to ya Hammer - you are definitely a star in the making!
And being a bass player myself, I have to save the best (for me at least) for last. Chris, dude, you are a SERIOUS force to be reckoned with on bass!!! Holy crap that was something to watch you play. From the equipment you use to the solid groovin' rhythms you play to the tasty fills, chords and runs you have at your disposal, you are a model of excellence at your craft!REALLY enjoyed everyone's performance to the max last night!!!!
All in all, I gotta say that the show last night was absolutely one of the best, most fun, most entertaing concerts I have been to in an extremely long time.....and I have been to a bunch! Sure, being front row for the whole show helps, but hey...... ;-)
Thanks again for comin to the ATL and rockin Hotlanta like you guys did! Can't wait until 08/15/06 & when yer back for the next go-round!!
PS - GREAT band for an opener! Bullets and Octane are some seriously cool dudes (got to chat w/ 'em briefly after the show) and they have a great sound, good songs and definitely know how to entertain!!
DID I say WOW!!! already??
THAT WAS JUST UNBELIEVEABLY AWESOME GUYS!!!!!!

Dave, Chris, Steve, and Stephen.
Excellant show! My ears are going to ring till the weekend ! Chris' voice is outstanding! you have got great pitch brother! Your connection with the crowd is really strong too; keep workin it ! Dave, what can I say; it is an honor to watch a master artist work his craft. I am humbled. It really shows how much you love music and how much it's a part of you. The Steve dudes, sweet work on the bass; you got real soul man. The beat was ROCKIN; I can still feel those drums! You kick Bro! It was a great show. The Roxy is a great place to do a concert like that; we really liked being so close to all of you and really getting caught up in the music. Thanks guys ! I hope you come back here soon !!

Whoops. I meant Chris with the solid Bass work and Steve with the sweet vocals ! Sorry guys. it's early and the caffine has not really taken hold.

Dave, did you change once again your guitar? Why is there a knob instead of the switch pick-up on your guitar in the picture you edit on the site?
Posted by: thora76 at May 23, 2006 08:15 AM
I am SO stoked about the show tomorrow night!!! Can't wait to see you guys play live...finally!

ATL was AWESOME boys!!! Thank you SOOOO much for everything. Seeing ya'll live was amazing, I now have an even deeper love for all of you. I admit I always loved Dave, cause well he's Dave, and still do cause the way he worked that guitar was amazing. But after seeing you live and meeting all of you, it's spread to all of you. Perkins on those drums is awesome, and I love the bongos and the little shaker thing, you're so adorable shaking it (: and Chris was amazing as well as sooo freakin nice and Issacs, you are freakin AWESOME!!! Amazing stage presence and voice not to mention guitar playing. And the way all your greatnesses seem to flow together perfectly is the greatest. You guys ROCK!!! Can't wait to see you again live.

Hey guys- I stood in the ATL concert at the Roxy right in front of Dave and his stack of Marshals (yah, I hang with several musicians) and my ears are still ringing. I arrived at the concert minutes after most of the band walked up to the people waiting in line… my entire body writhed with a pre- orgasmic chill when I found out how close I was to seeing all of you in person! The highlight of the night is when Dave shook my hand (I was the blonde in the black sequin halter top and wet panties)… more important is when the band shook my soul! Great performance and I am checking out another concert to attend… probably Denver. I have worked hard raising my daughters as a single mom and I am graduating from college with a BA in management and the only pleasure in life I have felt is listening to Dave on Spread Radio and now seeing the Panic Channel live! I love you guys and hope to see you again in a week!
