The Panic Channel.com Version 2
This is it. The result of hours upon hours of late night clicking, coding, Photoshopping, Flash animating, instant messages, CSS template hacking, uploading, downloading, and many, many profanities. This should be a good place to document all of our adventures, and give you all you could ever need to be a part of our music. None of this is any fun without you, so feel free to enjoy what we have put together, and join together with us.
We are working to bring the collaborative world of what's being called "The Blogosphere" to our online presence. One of the unique bits you might notice, is that this page, is itself, a blog. You can leave comments on our news items by clicking the "comments" link at the bottom of each news post. We don't know if this is nuts or not, but there's only one way to find out. Also for those of you into keeping up with your favorite sites via RSS (Really Simple Syndication), you can add this Panic Channel news page to your RSS news reader by using the RSS button over there in the right sidebar. There is also an RSS news feed in the "Shows" area, so when there are changes to our tour information, you'll know right away.
Now a little web site back story:
The original site ("Ouija") was built by Steve in Flash. After his computer was stolen and all the original Flash files with it, the site needed to be completely rebuilt from scratch. Robert Chafino arrived on the scene to save the day and begin his online collaboration with The Panic Channel by suggesting that the new site built in CSS, utilizing a blog engine as the main guts. A pretty cool idea.
He and Steve brainstormed this, Version 2.0: ("Velvet Version"). Band websites tend to be built in Flash and are usually used to promote an upcoming record release and after that, they get kinda musty. This site was built to be added upon and improved and to never stop growing. It was built so that the band can update it themselves from the road wherever they may be.
We ran into more than our share of roadblocks and catastrophes in the process and extra thanks go to Gianna Gragnani, Jeff Witters, Mike Renninger, Ryan Hovland, and Ed Fladung. Also thanks to all the great photographers, whose work brings everything to life. If you took one of the pics on the site, please email us and we'll add the credit.
Lest we forget to thank our hardworking Panic Community caretakers: thefreak6767, mortisha8, Rantz, WhitePony, bknollenberg, OLDSCHOOL, Cassandra, and the main main, Six7Six7. You guys rule.
We are so thankful for everyone's time and talent, and hope all of you will enjoy the site.

Wow, it's nice in here. Kind of like walking into a room that's just been freshly painted and having a party with all of your old friends with new walls all around. Thanks for the efforts, everyone in the community and of course, kudos to Dave for our kudos. Purple is my favorite color. Love the format. See you in Minneapolis, and who knows, may fly and shack with friends to see you guys in Houston, Boston and Colorado too.. does that make me a groupie?

Posted by: James at April 17, 2006 06:34 AM
Kudos and a big HELL YA,
I know that i speak for everyone here when i say that you guys have created so much more than a new band and a new album. You guys have created a community. I know that many people feel like i do, which is that they are a part of something bigger. Not just a traditional fan base, a community, the Panic Community. You have given us a look behind the music, a place to communicate with each other and a feeling that we are a part of what is going on. Sure we dont write the music, but we do spread the word. So to EVERYONE who has helped make this happen, let's fire this (ONe) up!

:) You rule too.
Loving the site... it looks hella nice.
One suggestion though... on the lyric page it'd be nice to have the song titles linkable on the top and then when you click on the title, it jumps down to the lyrics. Just my 2 cents. :)

Wow, nice work guys. The site looks awesome, and I'm really glad that you've given the band the same accessibility that you keep on your personal sites. Big thanks for the RSS feeds. Every band should have the foresight to include that.
All I can say is that if a song as amazing as "Go On" can't make the record, you must have one hell of an album ready for release. I can't wait.
